Golf Course Remodeling

Remodeling Design of new par 3s, hole 15 and 17, bunkering on hole 14, the par 4 18th, and the introduction of wetlands and increased lake size.

An 18-hole links-style resort and championship course located on a sandy peninsula, bordered by the natural Whangateau Harbour, sand dunes, native bush and wetlands. It is the heart of the much-loved and sought after seaside resort community, an hour's drive north of Auckland, NZ's most populous city.

Established in the 1970s on flat natural terrain, remodeling of the 'north 9' maximises the waterside location and introduces undulating landforms reflective of nearby sand dunes. New wetlands and extensions to an existing lake enhance strategy and beauty and greater irrigation water storage capacity.

The course is highly regarded for being fun, its quality, superbly maintained condition and stunning setting, and the remodeled holes have opened to much acclaim from members and visitors alike.

The work was made possible by "the Friends of Omaha" and dedicated fund raising and project management by members and course committees.
